The works, both unpublished and published, are evaluated with great attention, guaranteeing participants the possibility of acquiring pieces of considerable historical and artistic value.

Among the very important lots in the auction, we highlight a magnificent tempera on panel with a gold background representing San Giovanni Evangelista di Spinello by Luca Spinelli (ca. 1350 Arezzo - 1410 Arezzo Width 32 - Height 115 cm; panel dimensions: 97 cm, 1x27.4. (estimate: 60,000 - 80,000 euros). Known as Spinello Aretino, in honor of his hometown, Spinello di Luca Spinelli was a key transitional figure for the late Gothic style between the end of the 14th and the beginning of the 15th century. century in Tuscany. Active for about forty years between Arezzo, Florence, Lucca and Pisa, this artist was the object of particular attention by the great scholars of the Sixties, such as Miklós Boskovits and Stefan Weppelmann, whose interventions contributed to expanding a catalog which remains among the densest of the fourteenth century.

The work presented here can be traced back to the years of Spinello's first Florentine stay, during which, in addition to creating the frescoes with the stories of the life of Saint Benedict in the sacristy of San Miniato al Monte (dating to 1388), he also dedicated himself to a rich production of works on panel, within which the artist draws inspiration from the refined sweetness of Bernardo Daddi's models.

This beautiful panel, depicting Saint John the Evangelist in a sweet and almost slightly melancholic attitude, combined with the choice of the refined chromatic choice of iridescent pinks and greens for the saint's robe, well exemplifies the new elegance embraced by Spinello at the end of 1380.

Another element of great value is the Madonna with Child and Saint John between Saints Zacharias and Catherine of Siena by Vincenzo Catena (1480 Venice - 1531), 72x104 cm. (estimate: 40,000 - 50,000 euros). The work takes up a typical composition of the artistic production of the Venetian area of ??the second half of the fifteenth century: a sacred conversation set outdoors, in which the figures of the Madonna and the saints, depicted half-length, stand out monumentally against a clear blue sky . This Bellini-inspired prototype is then taken up and subsequently reinterpreted by Vincenzo Catena, author of our painting, who replicates it several times, placing the Virgin and Child in silent dialogue with the infant Saint John, Saint Zachariah and a saint, identified like Catherine of Siena for her royalty and rich dress.

We also point out, by Nicola Grassi (1682 Formeaso - 1748 Venice) an oil on canvas representing Susanna and the elders, Largh. 113 - Height 128 cm (estimate: 40,000 - 50,000 euros) and from the workshop of Bonifacio Bembo, a tempera and gold work punched on parchment applied on cardboard, titled Justice, tarot card, Width. 85 - Height 170 mm (estimate: 10,000 - 15,000 euros).

Finally, by Jean François de La Motte (1635 Tournai - 1685 Tournai), a watercolor on parchment showing Vanitas with books, hourglass, butterfly and shell, initialed “JTD” or “JFDL” on the folded piece of paper inserted between the pages of one of the books. Width 161 - Height 92 mm (estimate: 8,000 - 12,000 euros).
